El Paso- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elisa Salas, 88 of El Paso, Texas. She peacefully departed this earth. on August 7, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Born April 30, 1937 in Gomez Palacio, Durango Mexico she immigrated at an early age and began her journey as a devoted daughter, big sister, wife, mother and loving grandmother.

Licha was known for her generosity and commitment dedicating her life to her family always putting their needs first. She touched the lives of many especially in the St. Ignatius, Our Lady of the Valley, St Patrick’s Cathedral church and Cathedral HS communities. Ever the consummate housewife she was known for impeccable fashion sense and her delicious Gorditas and biscochito cookies.

Licha is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Ted Salas, her sons Jim, Charlie (Cindy), grandchildren Christopher and Caroline Salas.  Preceded in death by her mother, sister, and brothers. The family would like to thank Dr Luis Guerra and the angels of Hospice of El Paso for their compassionate care. 

Visitation for Mrs. Salas will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with Rosary at 7:00 PM at San Jose Funeral Home-East, 10950 Pellicano Dr., 79915, (915) 590-8700. Funeral Mass will be Friday, August 29, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at St Patrick’s Cathedral, 1118 N Mesa St, 79902.
