Gabriel Candelas, 71 was born in Pecos, TX on May 17, 1954
Gabriel was from Saragosa, TX, where he raised by loving parents. He graduated from Balmorhea High School in 1973. Gabriel moved to El Paso, TX in 1986 where he lived the rest of his life. He attended and graduated EPCC and was on the Deans Honor List in 1987. Gabriel retired from EPCC in 2006 after 15 years working in Testing Services as a System Specialist. In his formative years, growing up in West Texas, Gabriel enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers
and teaching his sister how to drive. Gabriel was a classic car enthusiast and very much enjoyed working on his own classic car. Gabriel enjoyed spending time with family and staying in to
watch a good movie or show on TV. He was a loving son, brother, cousin, uncle and a loyal friend. Gabriel will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Gabriel was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Rosalio Candelas and Maria Pas Carrasco Candelas, his brother Javier Candelas and sister Priscilla Candelas Rodriguez, 4 nephews and 1 niece. He is survived by his brothers, Saul Candelas and Sergio Candelas and his brother-in-law, Jesus Manuel Rodriguez.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East, 10950 Pellicano Dr., 79935 (915) 590-8700. Funeral Mass Wednesday, may 28, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar Rd., 79925. Interment will be Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Saragosa Cemetery, Saragosa Cemetery Rd., Texas 79780.
