Our beloved Esperanza "Hope" Modesta Gonzales passed peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

Born in Hasbro, Colorado, on June 15, 1938, she moved to El Paso in 1953 with her mom, step-dad, and brother after her freshman year to help raise her niece, "la pelona". She graduated from Ysleta High, worked for Mountain Bell as an operator, and later worked 40 years in various financial institutions (El Paso National, State National, Surety Savings, Wells Fargo) where she held different positions including teller, customer service representative, & bank officer.

All the while working, she was the caregiver for her mom and step-dad until their passing. With great devotion & love, Hopie was their champion and best friend.

Hopie loved dancing especially mambo & cha-chas, and getting together with family & friends. She worried about the well-being of all family, always telling us "be careful". She loved the family pets especially Perico, Chaparro, & Princesa. She scolded us in her special way but would give you the shirt off her back. We all have fond memories of the great times we shared, keeping her in our hearts.

Family welcoming Hopie in heaven are her mom, Esther Rodriguez Medina; step-dad, Jorge Medina; father, Inez Gonzales; sisters, Isaura "Sarah" Talamantes & Ruth Gonzales Mugrabi; brothers, Louis Gonzales & Antonio "Tony" Gonzales; brothers-in-law, Manny Talamantes & Ruben Salcido; niece & husband, Helen & Oliver Otero; nephew-in-law, Nick Herrera; niece-in-law, MaryLou Salcido; great niece, Bernadette Herrera; and cousin Sal Rodriguez.

Hopie is survived by sister, Rose Salcido; brother, Carl Rodriguez; nieces Rosalie (Tom), Lorraine, Valerie (Pete), Andrea, Camille (Mundo), Margaret, & Rosie; nephews Jim (Bettye), Ruben, John, & Andrew; many great nieces & nephews, and their children.

Hopie never wavered in her belief of God, asking Him to remember her. He has, and now she is at peace and worry-free in His everlasting love.

In Loving Memory of our Beloved Delia Montes Delia Montes, age 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her four sons, eleven grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Delia was the heart of her family—a quiet force of love and loyalty. She was a beautiful mix of strength and softness—stern when needed, but always leading with unconditional love. Her presence was steady, her heart vast, and her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
