In Loving Memory of

Hortensia R. Castro

Hortensia "Terry" Reza Castro, age 92, of El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, surrounded by the love she spent a lifetime giving to others.

Terry was born on April 25, 1934, in Gómez Palacio, Mexico, to Elvira Palmanes and Jose Reza. She grew up alongside her brothers and sisters in Mexico before moving to Miami at a young age. It was there that she found the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Castro, with whom she shared more than sixty beautiful years of marriage, partnership, laughter, and devotion.

Family was the heart of Terry's world. Everything she did reflected her deep love for those around her. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Terry built a life centered on caring for others and creating a home filled with warmth, humor, and joy. She worked for many years as an office manager for various companies in El Paso and was admired for her strong work ethic, generosity, kindness, and infectious spirit.

Terry found her greatest happiness watching her sons grow, cheering them on through every stage of life, and celebrating the families they built of their own. She and Bob were inseparable and could often be found together at social gatherings, dancing and enjoying time with friends, always surrounded by laughter.

Nothing brought Terry more pride than her grandchildren - Donte, Nikko, Rio, Rain, and Rome, and her step-grandchildren Nicole, Cody, and Genene. She delighted in every story they told, cheered their accomplishments loudly, and spoke of them endlessly with love.

She was equally devoted to her great-grandchildren - Julianna, Jo, June, Manuel, Vincenzo, Leo, Aniston, Nathen, Nevaeh, Mia, Athena, and Rose - embracing each moment she shared with them as a true blessing.

Terry's presence lit up every room. Her laughter was unforgettable, her kindness unwavering, and her love unconditional. She was famously the loudest cheerleader when watching her beloved Dallas Cowboys, a role she wore proudly and joyfully.

She is survived by her brothers, Fernando, Victor, and Louis; her sisters, Esperanza and Silvia; her sons, Robert and Joseph; her daughters-in-law, Lisa and Toni; her grandchildren; and her great-grandchildren. Her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and numerous very close relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvira and Jose; her brothers, Pepe, Raul, and Telmo; her sister, Nena; and her beloved husband, Bob Castro, whom she now rejoins.

Terry's legacy is one of faith, family, compassion, and joy. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a love that will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.

A memorial service will be held on May 1, 2026, at

San Jose Funeral Home at 10950 Pellicano, from 11 pm to 3 pm.

Celebration of Life to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Autism Speaks:  www.autismspeaks.

She will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and forever remembered
