With profound love and sorrow, the family of Isidro Garcia shares that he passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, at the age of 90, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on January 14, 1936, in Deming, New Mexico, Isidro spent part of his early years there with his Tia Martha and Tio Aniceto. At the age of 14, he reunited with his family in El Paso, where he later graduated from Jefferson High School and began a life marked by honor, dedication, and deep devotion to those he loved.

In 1954, Isidro proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, beginning a distinguished military career that would span more than 20 years until his retirement in 1975. His service took him across the United States and overseas, including assignments in Ohio, Kansas, New Mexico, California, Germany, and England. He also served in Vietnam. During his first assignment in England, he met the love of his life, Jean Jack. Together they shared 66 beautiful years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, adventure, and steadfast companionship, until Jean’s passing in 2023.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Garcia; his parents, Santiago Montaño Garcia and Elvira Romero Garcia; his brother, James Garcia; and his grandson, Ryan Beard.

He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his sisters, Rosita and Dorothy; his children, James (Ivonne), Mark, JoAnn (Joe), and Laura; grandchildren;Jessica (Ryan), Jacob (Joleen), Jordan, Jamie, Adam, Bonnie Jean (Patrick); great-granddaughter, Emmalyn; extended family, and many dear friends.

Family was the heart of Isidro’s life. Known affectionately as “Sonny” by some of those closest to him, he found his greatest joy in spending time with family, sharing stories, enjoying meals, watching baseball on television, and creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations.In his later years, he found friendship and companionship at MonteVista at Coronado, where his family remains deeply grateful for the kindness and care shown to him by the residents and staff. He especially enjoyed bingo and poker, meals out with his close circle of friends, and trips to the casinos, particularly with his daughters.

Isidro will be remembered for his quiet strength, warm sense of humor, unwavering love for his family, and faithful service to his country. His was a life well lived, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
