Jose Bustillos

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Jose B. Bustillos, who passed away on September 1, 2026, at the age of 89. He left this earth to join our Heavenly Father and the many loved ones who pre-ceded him in death.

Jose was born on February 15, 1937, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Jose Bustillos and Hermelinda Bustillos. One of 14 children, Jose later made El Paso his home, where he built a beautiful life centered around family, hard work, laughter, and love.

Jose proudly served his country for four years in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he spent his career in sales until his retirement. He was a hardworking man and a devoted provider who took great pride in making sure his family was always cared for. His

dedication to his family was evident throughout his life, and providing a good life for those he loved was one of his greatest accomplishments.

While Jose worked hard, he also knew how to enjoy life. He loved to dance and could always appreciate a good game of cards or a trip to the casino. He enjoyed playing games with his family, settling in to watch his favorite Westerns, and, of course, drinking his coffee. No matter the time of day, there was almost always a cup of coffee nearby.

Those who knew Jose will especially remember his wonderful sense of humor. He loved to joke around, tease, and make people laugh, and his grandchildren were often his favorite audience. He found great joy in making them smile and laugh. Those moments—the jokes, the games, the laughter around the table, and simply spending time together became some of the family's most treasured memories.

Above all else, Jose loved his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Raquel, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage, and a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was the center of his life, and the legacy he leaves behind can be seen in the

generations who loved him and were fortunate enough to call him Dad, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa.

Jose is survived by his loving wife, Raquel Bustillos; his four children, Sandra Gomez (Ernie), Mariza Martinez (Emilio), Ceci Fattorini (John), and Mark Bustillos (Veronica); his eleven grandchildren, Ian Gomez, Kristina Melendez (Joanna), Priscilla Fontenot (Cameron), Vincent Melendez, Desiree Martinez, Sarai Martinez, Aaron Guerrero, Angela Fattorini, Jessica Fattorini, Anika Fattorini, and Lauren Bustillos; and his two great-grandchildren, Alexiana Jae Loya and Jayce King Loya.

Jose will be deeply missed, but his family will carry with them the many memories he gave them—the sound of his laughter, his jokes, his love of dancing, card games and Westerns, his ever-present cup of coffee, and most importantly, the love and devotion he showed his family throughout his life. His memory will live on in the stories that are told, the laughter that is shared, and the family he loved so dearly.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026, at San Jose Funeral Home, 10950 Pellicano Drive, with the Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 11700 Pebble Hills Boulevard.

The Rite of Committal will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, where Jose will be laid to rest with military honors, in recognition of his honorable service to our country.

Pallbearers will be Mark Bustillos, Ernie Gomez, Emilio Martinez, John Fattorini, Ian Gomez, Vincent Melendez, and Cameron Fontenot.

Services are under the direction of San Jose Funeral Home, 10950 Pellicano Drive.
