Jose F. Garcia, age 95, peacefully passed away on September 21, 2026. He lived a life deeply rooted in faith, humility, and dedicated service to his country, community, and family.

Military Service & Career

A proud veteran, Jose served as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. For his honorable service, he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 2 bronze service stars, the United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

Following his military tenure, Jose dedicated 34 years to William Beaumont Army Medical Center. There, he spent his career teaching and managing the vital dietary needs of patients and mothers-to-be. A man who valued hard work from a young age, his very first job outside of farming was stacking bowling pins.

Faith & Community

Jose was a devout Catholic who lived with a singular purpose: to know, love, and serve God. In 1999, he received the honors of the 2nd and 3rd degree of the Knights of Columbus. He served his church with immense pride in numerous roles, including Sacristan, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EM), usher, and chef for special parish events. His favorite book was the Bible, and he found great joy in daily reading and learning about the saint of the day.

Family & Personal Life

Jose was known for his tireless work ethic and resilient spirit; he was never one to sit idle or complain. As an adult, he loved keeping his hands busy with house improvements and expansions.

Above all, Jose’s proudest moments were found in the growth of his family. He is survived by his 2 children, 6 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his incredible legacy of faith and love.

He is Preceded in death by his Parents: Jose & Rita Fino Garcia, Wife Ramona, Son Jose Jr. and 3 siblings (Luis, Carlos, Margarita)
