Josefina R. Ortiz passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026. Josefina (Chickie) lived a full and meaningful life centered around her family. She worked many years at Farah Manufacturing and later at Taylor Publishing where she retired in 1999.

Josefina was known for her generous heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. She loved shopping, dancing, spending time with family and creating lasting memories with those she loved most.

Josefina was an outgoing, fun loving wife, daughter, mother sister, friend, aunt & Nina. She brought joy & laughter wherever she

went, while also providing strength and guidance when it was needed most.

Josefina was married to her beloved husband, Ramon Ortiz, for 65 years. He preceded her in death in February 2025. She was also preceded her in death by her son Ramon Ortiz Jr. (Raymond) in September 2010. She was the last surviving of her siblings. She is now reunited with her loved ones in heaven. 

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Cash (Arnold), Cyndi Peterson (David), Edith Ortiz ( Benjamin Bautista ); seven grandchildren: Lucy Jo Ortiz,Daniel Miskei ( Andrea ), Raymond Ortiz, Alexis Peterson (Connor), Lauren Peterson, Ryan Logan Ortiz and Christian Peterson. One great grandchild,all of whom will continue to honor her legacy of Love, Kindness and Strength.

Josefina,  will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
