Rosie Rosa Elena Chavez Briones, age 69, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, in El Paso, Texas. Born on May 12, 1956, in Parral Chihuahua, Mexico, Rosie brought warmth and joy to all who knew her throughout her life.
Rosie was a beloved daughter of Lidia Muñoz (Lili) and the late Salvador Chavez. She was also lovingly raised by her stepfather, the late Alberto Muñoz. Her close-knit family included her siblings Bertha Chavez, Julio Chavez, Salvador “Chava” Chavez, Jesus “Chuy” Chavez, and Ana Leal “Anita.” She cherished her many nieces and nephews, godsons and goddaughters, as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews who brought her immense pride and happiness.
A woman of vibrant spirit and boundless generosity, Rosie had a gift for bringing people together. She was the heart of every gathering—her laughter infectious, her stories unforgettable. Whether she was sharing a humorous tale or offering a helping hand to someone in need, Rosie’s presence lit up every room she entered.
Rosie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved knitting scarves and blankets with care and creativity. Working on puzzles brought her quiet satisfaction, while traveling with loved ones filled her with excitement and wonder. Above all else, she treasured time spent with family—those moments of connection that meant everything to her.
Her faith was an important part of her life. Rosie enjoyed attending St. Jude Catholic Church on Sundays alongside her mother. These moments of worship were deeply meaningful to her and reflected the values she carried into every aspect of her life.
Rosie will be remembered not only for her humor and warmth but also for the kindness she extended so freely to others. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A Viewing will be held on August 12, 2025, from 09:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St.Anthony Catholic Church 324 Lincoln. Rosary will be held at the church from 10:30 -11:00 am, after the rosary will follow with a Mass /Funeral service starting at 11:00 AM

Rosie era la hija querida de Lidia Muñoz (Lili) y el difunto Salvador Chávez. También fue criada con cariño por su padrastro, el difunto Alberto Muñoz. Su familia unida incluía a sus hermanos Bertha Chávez, Julio Chávez, Salvador “Chava” Chávez, Jesús “Chuy” Chávez y Ana Leal “Anita”. Apreciaba a sus numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas, ahijados y ahijadas, así como a sus numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas nietas, quienes le brindaron un inmenso orgullo y felicidad.

El velatorio se llevará a cabo el 12 de agosto de 2025, de 9:30 a 10:30 a. m., en la Iglesia Católica de San Antonio, 324 Lincoln. El rosario se rezará en la iglesia de 10:30 a 11:00 a. m., y después se celebrará una misa/funeral a partir de las 11:00 a. m.
