Alexander E. Sierra, 66, passed away on July 19th. Alex was born in El Paso, TX but was raised as a child in various locations. As the son of an Air Force father he lived in New Mexico, California, Italy and Michigan. He returned to El Paso in 1977 and lived the remainder of his life in the El Paso area.
Alexander was a beloved father, a devoted and dutiful son, a respected older brother, and a loyal and generous friend. He touched the lives of many through his kindness, integrity, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. His memory will be cherished, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Alexander had a wide and diverse set of interests. He chronicled his family’s long history in the El Paso area and enjoyed exploring local history. He proudly appeared in several films and television shows highlighting El Paso’s rich history and culture. Alexander was also deeply involved in State and local government and business development, serving on several New Mexico State boards and committees. Alex was proudest of his work with the Border Industrial Association (BIA).
Alex is survived by his beloved daughter Norma Rae, his loving mother Alicia E. Sierra, and his brothers Arnold and Samuel Patrick. Alex was preceded in death by his father Sabino Sierra and his brother Sabino Sierra Jr.
Alex will be missed by his entire family, and his wide number of people whom he befriended throughout his full and brilliant life. Funeral arrangements will be handled by San Jose Funeral Home East (www.sanjosefuneralhome.com).
