Visitation will be Monday, June 9, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with recitation of the rosary at 10:30 a.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East, 10950 Pellicano Dr., 79935 (915) 590-8700. Funeral mass at 12:00 p.m. at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar Rd., 79925. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Avenue, 79906.
Clara A. Walker, 83, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, in El Paso, Texas. She was born in La Unión, New Mexico, and spent her life dedicated to service, family, and faith.
Clara was retired from both the Armed Services YMCA and the W.R. Weaver Scope Company. Even after retirement, she remained committed to her community through volunteer work with the American Red Cross and the El Paso Police Department. Her kindness, strength, and generosity touched the lives of many.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mitchell D. Walker; her parents, Alfredo and Josefina Aguilar; her brothers, Jose Rios, Martin Ruben Aguilar, and Alfredo Aguilar Jr.; and her sisters, Mary Montelongo and Manuela Avila; and grandson James C. Bradford. Clara is survived by her sister Irene Salas, her loving children: Patricia Ann Garcia, Grace Saenz, Elizabeth S. DeSoto, Irma Ortiz, Denise S. Gonzalez, and Juan Manuel Saenz Jr. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchild, and 1 great-great-grandchild, all of whom were a source of deep pride and joy.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at San Jose Funeral Home, 10950 Pellicano Dr., El Paso, TX 79935, with a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 p.m. at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar Rd., El Paso, TX 79925. Interment will take place immediately after at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Mountain View Rehabilitation Center, Las Palmas ICU, and Global Hospice of El Paso for their loving care and compassion during Clara’s final days.
Clara’s warmth, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and community will be remembered and cherished always.
