Beloved

David V. Torres

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our father, David V. Torres, who departed this life on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. He was 91 years old and born in La Union, NM. Our father was a humorous soul and loved animals. He enlisted in the Marine Corp at 17 years old, and served in the Korean War. He was a proud Marine. He was a middle weight boxer in his younger days. He enjoyed bowling playing golf and going to what he called “Therapy” at Sunland Park and Speaking Rock Casinos. He was generous and donated to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Operation Smile.

He is survived by his children, David Torres III, Isabel Torres Kalenak, Olga Leticia Torres and Diane Torres Escobedo, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eliseo Torres and Antonia Valenzuela, Doris Powell and our beloved mother Ana Maria Torres.

Memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East, 10950 Pellicano Dr., 79935 (915) 590-8700. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m..
