Juan “Poky” Duron, 84, passed away on November 22, 2025, at Providence Hospital in El Paso, Texas.

Born with a natural gift for working with his hands, Juan proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965, stationed in Panama where he worked as an aircraft mechanic. After completing his military service, he continued his mechanical career with dedication, working for several trucking companies throughout the years.

Juan is survived by his two sons, David and George; his three sisters: Espy, Estella, Irene, and his five brothers: Luis, Ruben, Angel, Michael, and Ramon. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Dina, who passed at birth and his sister Cecelia.

Known affectionately as “Poky,” Juan had a love for fishing—especially the preparation, which often brought him more joy than actually casting a line. He was an avid reader of books and newspapers, always ready to talk about the stories and headlines that caught his interest. His humor, quiet strength, and devotion to his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family invites friends and loved ones to remember Juan in their own special way and to honor the simple joys he treasured in life.
