Maria Tovar Molinar, 90, born April 10, 1935, in Janos, Chih, MX, died March 31, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband George A. Molinar and her parents Gabina Marquez, Loreto Tovar and her ten brothers/sisters. She died peacefully in her home surrounded by love and family. 

Maria was a lifelong resident of Sunset Heights, 711 Mundy Drive. She is survived by her children Mary Solis, Sylvia Cole, Marco Molinar, Carmen Barreno, Irma Caprata, Gloria Molinar, George Molinar and 11 grandchildren and 5 GG children who will carry forward her warmth and spirit.

She was a stay-at-home mother/grandmother and great-grandmother who built a vibrant large family around her. She raised her children with strength, patience, kindness, energy, deep faith, and homemade meals. Her passions included gardening, traveling, sewing, and volunteering at Holy Family Catholic Church. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home Central, 601 S. Virginia St., El Paso, TX 79901.  Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, following for interment to Ft.
