With profound love and heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Maria Valentina Picard, who entered eternal rest on

February 13, 2026, at the age of 80.

Maria was born on February 3, 1946, in San Juan Del Río, Durango, to Tomas Lujan and Gregoria Orozco. From her earliest days, she carried within her a strength that would define her life. Raised with strong values and deep family roots, she grew into a woman of resilience, determination, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

She was married to the love of her life, Myron Junior Picard, whom she had 4 children with and was married for 20 beautiful years. Their love was a meaningful chapter of her life, and she now reunites with him in eternal peace.

Maria was hardworking, courageous, and fiercely devoted to her family. She faced life’s challenges with grace and perseverance, always putting her children and loved ones first. Her strength built the foundation upon which generations now stand.

She had a vibrant spirit and a sharp wit. Maria possessed a rare gift for storytelling — when she shared her life experiences, you didn’t just hear them, you lived them. She could make you laugh until your stomach hurt while teaching life lessons wrapped in humor and heart. Her stories will continue to be told for years to come.

She found joy in listening to her oldies music, filling her home with melodies that carried memories of her youth. She loved cooking and expressing her love through food; her kitchen was a gathering place where laughter echoed and no one ever left hungry. Helping others came naturally to her — her heart was generous, compassionate, and always open.

Maria cherished the time she spent with her sisters, Lupe and Minga, with whom she shared an inseparable bond. Their closeness was a testament to the deep importance of family in her life. She also treasured her nieces and nephews, holding them close to her heart.

She is lovingly survived by her children:

Lauri Ann Moreno (Gilbert),

Larry Allen Picard (Laura),

Lynn Annette Picard (Gabriela), and

Loni Angela Picard (Louie).

She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren:

Candice Alysse Moreno, Kristen Leigh Moreno, Evan Allen Picard (Rosa), Luis Gerardo Gonzalez, Levi Graham Gonzalez, and Landon Gotham Gonzalez.

She was also blessed with her beloved great-grandchildren:

Idalis Luna Picard and Noah Allen Picard.

Maria’s legacy is one of strength, laughter, faith, perseverance, and unconditional love. Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we celebrate a life beautifully lived — a life that shaped us, strengthened us, and filled us with love.

13 de Febrero de 2026, a la edad de 80 años.

Maria nació el 3 de febrero de 1946 en San Juan del Río, Durango, hija de Tomás Luján y Gregoria Orozco. Desde sus primeros años, llevaba dentro de sí una fortaleza que definiría su vida. Criada con valores firmes y profundas raíces familiares, creció para convertirse en una mujer resiliente, determinada y plenamente dedicada a quienes amaba.

Estuvo casada con el amor de su vida, Myron Junior Picard con quien tuvo cuatro hijos y compartío 20 hermosos años de matrimonio. Su amor fue un capítulo significativo en su historia, y ahora se reencuentra con él en la paz eterna.

Maria fue trabajadora, valiente y profundamente entregada a su familia. Enfrentó los desafíos de la vida con gracia y perseverancia, siempre poniendo a sus hijos y seres queridos en primer lugar. Su fortaleza construyó los cimientos sobre los cuales hoy se sostienen generaciones.

Tenía un espíritu vibrante y un ingenio agudo. Maria poseía un don especial para contar historias — cuando compartía sus experiencias, no solo las escuchabas, las vivías. Podía hacerte reír hasta que doliera el estómago mientras enseñaba lecciones de vida envueltas en humor y corazón. Sus historias seguirán contándose por muchos años más.

Disfrutaba escuchar música de su juventud, llenando su hogar con melodías que evocaban recuerdos inolvidables. Amaba cocinar y expresar su amor a través de la comida; su cocina era un lugar de reunión donde la risa resonaba y nadie se iba con hambre. Ayudar a los demás era algo natural para ella — su corazón era generoso, compasivo y siempre abierto.

Maria apreciaba profundamente el tiempo que compartía con sus hermanas, Lupe y Minga, con quienes tenía un lazo inseparable. Su unión era un reflejo de la importancia que la familia tenía en su vida. También quería entrañablemente a sus sobrinos y sobrinas, llevándolos siempre en su corazón.
