Irene Lozano

Our sister, Irene Lozano, age 73, of El Paso, TX, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2026 under the care of El Paso Health & Rehab Center, and Remarkable Hospice. Born on November 6, 1952 in El Paso. Daughter of Leonardo (deceased) Lozano &  our surviving mother, Juanita A. Lozano. Also survived by six siblings: Carmen (Chito) Quintana, Felix (Priscila) Lozano, Lucy (Alfonso) Diaz, Lydia Solis, Teresa Lozano, and Guillermo “Toby” Lozano. She had numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-greatnieces and nephews.

Irene attended Incarnate Word / Mt. Carmel School and later pursued her GED. She was avid about baby-sitting her family’s babies and loved sharing stories with them. In later times, she worked in cashiering and retail, and her favorite pastime was uniting with extended family members during family reunions in Balmorhea TX. Irene also loved sharing special dishes like her tuna fish salad and her special salsa among others. Irene was a Born Again Christian who knew and loved our Lord Jesus and was actively involved at Centro Vida Church whom she considered close family, especially Art and Irene Rodela, plus brothers George and Jimmy. Irene at times shielded inner feelings by displaying an edgy exterior, but loyal comrades knew her tender and generous spirit.

Irene’s life will be celebrated on Wednesday,

April 1, 2026 at San Jose Funeral Home from

5:00 to 8:00 pm. A special thanks to all the

caregivers, nurses, and staff in the medical

facilities mentioned.
