A proud 1966 graduate of Bowie High School, he was a standout track star in the 100-yard dash and a member of Bowie’s sports club, The Drifters. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eloise Lucero Perea.
His greatest legacy, however, lives on through his five beautiful daughters: Lisa (Kevin) Dieter, Isela (Ty) Arevalo, Priscilla Perea (Angel Amaro), Jessica Perea, and Jennifer Delgado. He was a proud grandfather to Michael Corral, Nicole Schmalzriedt, Madison Dieter, Sela Arevalo, Burgundi Dieter, Jude Reyes, and Anissa Amaro, and a loving great-grandfather to Niklas and Freya Schmalzriedt.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home Central, 601 S. Virginia St., El Paso, TX 79901. Rosary will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2026. Cremation will take place at a later date. For more information, call our office at 915-532-1856.
