Carmen Huitron, aged 65, of San Elizario Texas, peacefully passed away at her home on June 16, 2024, surrounded by her children and loved ones.

Born on March 29, 1959, in Rubio, Chihuahua, Mexico, Carmen took great pride in her heritage. Known for her sharp wit and distinctive lisp, she embodied the spirit of Mero Mero Chihuahua. At the age of 18, Carmen bravely crossed the scorching Arizona desert in pursuit of the American Dream. She cherished the moment she earned her citizenship in 2004. 

Carmen is survived by her children, Linda Huitron (m. Adrian Abrego, c. Esmeralda Abrego) of Patterson, Ca, Christina Huitron (c. Destiny Cruz, Leah Natalia Huitron) of San Jose, Ca, Yesenia Huitron of El Paso, Tx. and David Huitron of Socorro, Tx.

Carmen was celebrated for her generosity with her time and veracious council. She offered love to those in need, solace to the troubled, and shelter to those who found their way to her door. A determined mujer, Carmen was characterized by her resilience, honesty, and straight forward nature. Whether offering words of encouragement or a much-needed regañada, she always spoke from the heart.

You could count on finding Carmen doing some of her favorite activities: tending to her garden and homestead, shopping for her favorite Nikes and indoor plants, spending time with her children or exploring new food spots all over El Paso.

We request that you wear one of her favorite colors burgundy, red or black.

Services to honor Carmen's life will be held on August 3, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at San Jose Funeral Home, 10950 Pellicano, El Paso Texas 79935.
