Edward B. Savage

June 1, 1982 - January 2, 2025

Send Flowers

A celebration of Edward’s life will be held on January 17th, 2025, at San Jose Funeral Home (10950 Pellicano Dr, El Paso, Texas 79935) from 4-8pm (visitation, Rosary at 7pm) and a funeral mass will be held on January 18th, 2025 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10am (2709 Alabama St, El Paso, Texas 79930). In lieu of flowers, Edward would prefer laughter (more bad dad jokes), a good roast, and maybe a charcuterie board —because who doesn’t love some good meat and cheese?

Obituary for Edward Savage

It is with deep sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Edward (Eduardo, Lalo, Eddie) B. Savage, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, who left us far too soon on January 2nd, 2025, at the young age of 42.

Born on June 1, 1982, to Benjamin and Elizabeth Savage, in El Paso, Texas, Edward was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. Passionate and determined, he had a heart full of kindness, an adventurous spirit, and a deep sense of loyalty. Whether he was pursuing his hobbies (art, fishing, music), standing behind his loved ones, or embarking on new experiences, Edward gave everything with a sincerity and enthusiasm rivaled by few.

Edward lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an impressive collection of sleeveless band shirts that he insisted were ‘vintage.’ He was known for his unmatched ability to make dad jokes at the worst possible times and for his legendary punk rock mohawk and “old-timey” mustache at family and friend gatherings.

In his short time with us, Edward made a difference in ways that words cannot fully capture. He was a man of God, a friend to all, a brother who always had your back, a son who filled his family’s lives with joy, and, most importantly, a father whose love was without limits. His rock and roll spirit will continue to inspire all who had the distinct pleasure of knowing him.

Edward is survived by his three beautiful children, Emma, Benjamin, and Scarlett, his former spouse, Rebecca, his father, Benjamin Savage, his siblings, Elizabeth Savage Rodriguez (Donato) and Omar Savage (Ashley), and numerous extended family members, friends, and loved ones, including his aunt and second mom, Veronica Villegas. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Villegas Savage, his grandparents, David and Rafaela Villegas, and his uncle, Osvaldo Villegas.

Though his time with us was brief, Edward's memory will live on forever in our hearts and he is forever entrusted into God’s care. May he rest in peace with his eternal Father and Savior.
