Gilberto Garza

July 30, 1951 - April 7, 2025

    Gilberto Garza, lifelong resident, community member, and business owner, died after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease at the age of 73. He leaves behind his soul mate Sylvia, his children Franchesca & Tom Fraire, Garrett & Alba Garza, and Brianna & Brian Gomez, grandchildren Thomas & Charlene, Mary Faith, Jonah, Lila, Gwendolyn, and Brayden, and his siblings Mary Felix, Raul & Sandra Garza, Oscar Garza, and Rick and Poula Garza. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raul & Petra Garza, and his sister, Norma Garza.

    Gilbert is a graduate of Bel Air High School and The University of Texas at El Paso. Gil was a former Account Manager at Hospira, owner and broker at Real Estate El Paso, an active member of the Council of Independent Brokers and Agents (CIBA) for the Greater El Paso Area of Realtors, Bel Air Alumni Association, Church of St. Clement. He enjoyed adventures, golfing, scuba diving, family, fun, and good food. Gil had lifelong friends who supported him, kept him in good conversations, and laughing until the very end. Those who knew Gil will miss him for his kindness, quick wit, love of life, and generous contributions to the El Paso community.

   In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation (https://www.parkinson.org/) in his memory.

   The Garza Family is grateful to Gilbert’s caretakers, Omar and Cinthia Bujanda, and Remarkable Hospice. 

    Memorial Service will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.  With a prayer service with  Pastor Raul Martinez.  Friday, April 11th at San Jose Funeral Home East.  Located 10590 Pellicano Dr. El Paso TX, 79935.
