Jesus Jose Nava, Sr. 75, passed away at home surrounded by his loving wife, children and grandchildren on August 22, 2024. Jesus (Chuy known to his friends and family) was born on January 22, 1949, in El Paso, TX to Luis and Fortunata Nava. Chuy met his long-life partner and wife Teresita at a church bazaar in 1966. Four years later they married on May 2, 1970. During their 54-year marriage they had three children. Chuy’s favorite hobbies were cars; he enjoyed watching races, rebuilding classic cars and attending car shows. He is survived by his wife Teresita Nava, oldest son Jesus, Jr., daughter Carolina, son in law Frank Herrera, youngest son Daniel and daughter in law Veronica Nava. Six grandchildren Jesse Nava, Carolina and Raymond Herrera, Shelby Gonzalez, Emilio and Preston Nava. Also his older siblings Lorenzo Nava, Martina Yarbrough, Maria Girvin and many nieces and nephews. Chuy is preceded in death by his parents Luis and Fortunata Nava, siblings Enrique Nava, Margarita Nava, Luisa Medina, Enrique (Henry) Nava, Luis Nava Jr , Alfredo Nava and Maria Teresa Harding. Chuy was a long-time member at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday August 29^th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Rosary at 12:00pm at San Jose Funeral Home East on 10950 Pellicano Dr. Followed by funeral mass at the Ysleta Mission on 131 S Zaragoza Rd. Inurnment will be private. Family members will serve as Pallbearers.
