Margarita Landin, 85, passed on Sunday, January 19^th surrounded by her loving family. She was an El Paso native and a proud Bowie Bear Alumna, class of 1958. She received her bachelor’s in education from Texas Western College in 1963. She went on to be an educator for the El Paso Independent School District for 38 years. She taught at Burleson, Roosevelt and Aoy Elementary Schools. She received teacher of the year from Aoy Elementary School for the school year 1979-80.

She married her high school sweetheart, Alfonso Landin in 1962. They had four beautiful daughters, Cynthia, Laura, Paula and Margarita and adopted their great granddaughters Amanda and Raquel. Their family grew to include grandchildren, Vanessa, Alexandro, Christopher, Thomas and Alfonso; great grandchildren Dee, Isaiah, Elijah, Adam, Kehlani and Damian.

She is preceded in death by her husband Alfonso and daughter Paula. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia, Laura, Margarita, Amanda, Raquel, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a loving mother to her daughters and grandchildren. After she retired, she continued to teach by homeschooling her grandchildren. She also shared her love for learning and reading with her students, children and grandchildren.
