Maria Juana Hurtado, age 84, died early Saturday morning, in her own home, surrounded by her loved ones. She peacefully passed away listening to the prayers her family was making for her. Though she suffered much and was much weakened by her illness, she fought cancer to the very last moment with bravery and resilience. She was known for her unwavering support and love for her family. She was a loving mother and was very friendly and easily made friends everywhere she went. She is deeply missed and loved by all who knew her, but most terribly by her three children and granddaughter, who will always love and never forget her. Even though her loved ones are deeply saddened by her departure, we rejoice and are confident knowing that we will one day be reunited in heaven. 

Visitation will be Thursday, May 2nd, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 6:30 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East, 10950 Pellicano Dr., 79935 (915) 590-8700. Funeral service Friday, May 3rd, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at El Divino Redentor, 3131 Yandell Dr., 79903. Interment to follow at Memorial Pines Cemetery, 3061 Memorial Pines Ln., Sunland Park, NM 88063.
