Born August 23, 1951 in El Paso, Texas, to Anastacio Gutierrez and Elena Cordero Gutierrez.  Alfredo passed away March 6th, 2024 in a local hospital surrounded by his wife of 42 years Dolores, brothers Joe and Richard.

Alfredo was a quiet and kind man seldom raising his voice or arguing to make his point in a discussion. He was quick to help family and friends if anyone asked. He possessed a wonderful memory for important family anniversaries and birthdays. Alfred especially enjoyed nephews’ and nieces ’birthday parties. He loved all his family and special friends. He enjoyed fishing trips to New Mexico and the Rio Grande with friends and his faithful German Sheppard. Alfredo was an accomplished cook on his outdoor grill. He could smoke a whole turkey to perfection among other delicacies. Alfredo enjoyed tending his garden of chiles, tomatoes and squash.

Alfredo graduated in 1999 with a BA in photojournalism from UTEP. He went to work at the “El Paso Herald Post” as a reporter. After leaving the post he co- founded a monthly publication “Images” covering local points of interest in history and culture. He sold the magazine but continued his profession as a freelance photographer for many years afterward. Alfredo joined the US Marines in 1968 at the height of the Vietnam conflict until he was honorably discharged in 1975.

Alfredo was preceded in death by his father Anastacio Gutierrez, his Mother Elena Cordero Gutierrez, sister Rowena Sanchez, and brother Tommy Gutierrez. He is survived by brother’s Maurice, Joe and Richard.

In Loving Memory of our Beloved Delia Montes Delia Montes, age 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her four sons, eleven grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Delia was the heart of her family—a quiet force of love and loyalty. She was a beautiful mix of strength and softness—stern when needed, but always leading with unconditional love. Her presence was steady, her heart vast, and her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
