In Loving Memory of

Lidia Hurtado Campa

July 12, 1933 - November 28, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lidia Hurtado Campa 92. Lidia went to be with our Lord on November 28, 2025. Leaving a legacy of love, faith and cherished family traditions, she was a proud, faith filled wife, mother and grandma.

Lidia was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Reymundo Campa. She is survived by daughter Leonor Campa-Rodriguez and husband Fernando Rodriguez Sr.; Sons, Raymundo Campa Jr. and wife Pat Campa and Javier Campa and wife Elena Ivonne Campa. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Fernando Rodriguez Jr., Joseph Campa, Crystal Acosta, Carla Gomez, Rebecca Campa and Christopher Campa and great-grandchild Kiera Campa.

Lidia attended the historical school Alamo Elementary, proudly graduating from Bowie High School, A Proud "Bowie Bear” for life. She married the love of her “Life” Reymundo Campa on June 26, 1960. They subsequently had their three children. Mom and Dad were examples of Commitment, dedication to each others’ love and family unity, until illness finally took his life. In their years together they enjoyed the adventures of traveling that took them too many different cities in the U.S. Their favorite vacation spots were Ruidoso, New Mexico and Las Vegas, Nevada. Mom’s faith and family was important to her. It manifested for many years as she would gather her family for all to participate in the making of the “tamales". This was an all day event due to the dozens that were made on the morning of Christmas Eve. During the Christmas season, it was also time for the "Christmas Posades” where she led the rosary ceremony. On Christmas Eve, the last posada and rosary, it was time for the famous “Tamales”. It was her pride and joy to see her family indulging in faith, love and togetherness, then the enjoyment of eating the “Tamales” along with the festivities that were part of this family’s tradition. She was also famous for her Christmas cinnamon-sugar cookies via “Biscocho’s”. Her New Year’s Eve were set aside for her hand kneading and knee stretched “Bunuelos” for all to enjoy New Year’s Day. Nobody could replica them exactly… We tried!! DELISH!
