Our beloved, Magdalena B. Martinez, age 68, passed away on October 31, 2024, surrounded by her family, after a difficult battle with cancer. She was born on December 31, 1955, in El Paso, TX to Armando and Maria Elena Bustamante.
Maggie or Aunty Mags, as known to by many, lived in El Paso her whole life. She attended Cedar Grove Elementary School and eventually Riverside High School, where she was the first graduating class of 1973. She was a proud Ranger through and through. After graduating, she worked many years for Dr. L. Candelaria Clinic, then for Tigua Chiropractors with Dr. Miller and Dr. Petrosky. After that, she went to work for El Paso Rio Grande OB/GYN with Drs. Danielles+, Alcala and San Miguel. She then went on to work for the El Paso VA for 15 years, where she retired in 2021. Along the way, she met many people and made many friends; in turn, many became family, which kept in touch with her until her dying day.
Aunty Mags had a great green thumb, caring for all her trees and plants. She loved nurturing, repotting, watering her flower bed and trees in the nice cool evenings. Maggie was always full of spirit and loved spending time with her family. She loved listening to music and dancing. She was never embarrassed to get on that dance floor and tear it up! She loved spending time with family, making memories, and on occasion “pouring out some for the Homies” (inside joke).
She is preceded in death by her parents Armando and Maria Elena Bustamante, and her husband Reymundo Martinez.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Christina Reyes (Jimenez) and Jimmy Jimenez (Sunshine); grandchildren Brianna (Isaiah), Joslynn, Julian and Jayden and bonus grandchildren Faith (Cecy), Devon, Maya, and Adrian; her siblings Mando (Bernie), Gloria (Hector), David (Brenda) and Elizabeth; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to her medical team doctors and their staff which includes Dr. Alejandro Rocha, Dr. Joshua Rodriguez and Dr. Stephanie Han at Texas Oncology, Dr. Jeanette Tan, Dr. Juan G. Becerra, along with Dr. Talal Kayyal at Renovatio Clinical.
Memorial service will be held at San Jose Funeral Home-East on 10950 Pellicano Dr., 79935 (915) 590-8700 on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 9:30am- 12:00pm with prayer service at 10:30am with internment to immediately follow at Memory Pines Cemetery, 3061 Memorial Pines Ln, Sunland Park, NM.

In Loving Memory of our Beloved Delia Montes Delia Montes, age 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her four sons, eleven grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Delia was the heart of her family—a quiet force of love and loyalty. She was a beautiful mix of strength and softness—stern when needed, but always leading with unconditional love. Her presence was steady, her heart vast, and her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
