In Loving Memory

October 2, 1947 – July 30, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary “Edna” Hernandez, who passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, at the age of 78. Edna was born on October 2, 1947 in Socorro, Texas. She lived a life defined by love, devotion, and kindness, touching the hearts of everyone who knew her. She worked in the legal profession most of her life where she was respected for her professionalism, compassion and strong work ethic. Edna’s greatest joy was the life she shared with her beloved husband, Robert of 57 years. She now continues her journey with Robert in the Heavens above. She especially enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, and reading with margarita in hand while spending time with family and friends. Above all, Edna treasured her family. She created memories with her children and grandchildren, who were among her greatest blessings. She also shared a special bond with her loving dog, Bella whose faithful companionship brought her comfort and joy.

Edna is lovingly survived by her son Robert Hernandez, Jr. (Janet), her daughter Cynthia Marie Hernandez (German); her cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Robert Hernandez, Jacob Samuel Hernandez, and Noah Anthony Gutierrez. She also leaves behind many extended family to include 5 sisters and 6 brothers and friends whose lives were enriched by her love and kindness. Though our hearts are heavy with her loss, we find comfort in the memories she leaves behind and the enduring legacy of love, strength and joy she shared with all who knew her. She now finds peace in reuniting with her loved ones above.  

Visitation for Edna will be Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with recitation of the rosary starting at 6:00 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East, 10950 Pellicano Dr., 79935 (915) 590-8700. Interment will be at private.
