Ofelia Favela, born on April 16, 1937, in Villa Ahumada, Chihuahua, Mexico, passed away on February 19, 2025 in her home in El Paso, Texas. She was the daughter of Severiano Maese and Luciana Hernandez. Ofelia was married to David Yañez Favela in 1953 and together they had three children: Victor Manuel Favela (spouse: Lourdes Luera Favela), Jose Ines Favela, and David Favela Jr. She was also blessed with three grandchildren: Wendy Favela Hernandez, Victor Boy Favela and Estelle Peanut Favela Marquez. And was also blessed with five great grandchildren DJ Hernandez, Chris Hernandez, Matthew Favela,Elias Marquez and Aubrey Marquez.

Ofelia worked in the textile industry and retired after 35 years of dedicated service. In her free time, she enjoyed being a homemaker, as well as knitting and sewing. She was known for her creativity and attention to detail in everything she did.

Her family and friends will always remember her kindness, love, and the warmth she brought to everyone around her.

Ofelia will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Ofelia Favela passed away due to medical complications.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Februrary 27, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with recitation of the rosary starting at 11:00 a.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East, 10950 Pellicano Dr., 79935 (915) 590-8700. Funeral mass will follow at 1:00 p.m. at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church, 503 Hunter Dr., 79915.
