Ofelia R. Martinez gained her eternal wings on January 7th, 2025 at the age of 73.
Ofelia was born on May 6th, 1951 in El Paso Texas and resided in her childhood neighborhood of San Juan for many years. She was loved by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Ofelia worked for Taylor Publishing Company in her younger years and her passion later on in life was working for the El Paso Parks and Recreation’s After School Program at Cooley Elementary School. Ofelia loved her kids at the ASP and would always keep in touch with them even after they all grew up. She loved to have fun, whether that be at a family function with an ice cold coronita, choreographing her and her sisters annual mother’s day performance as the “Shirelles”, finding a deal at the thrift store, or winning a little cash at Speaking Rock Casino. Ofelia lived life to the fullest and her spirit will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure of being in her presence.
Ofelia is preceded in death by husband Pablo Martinez, grandmother Felicitas Del Val, mother Petra Rincon, father Demetrio Rincon, brothers Agustin Rincon, Ruben Rincon, sisters Amalia Cavasos, Eva Magallanes, Concepcion Vera, Estella Martos, and Celia Pineda.
Ofelia is survived by her dear sister Romelia Guereque, loving brother Jose Roberto Rincon, daughter Melisa Martinez, son Michael Albert Martinez, grandson Paul Ray Dominguez, granddaughter Savannah Zairy Valenzuela, and loving partner Edmundo Salinas as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that she considered family.
