New Paragraph

Our beloved Jacqueline Ponce, believer , mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend,  only 42 years old, was called home by God in the comfort of her home and presence of her loved ones on the 16th of April 2024. She was born on May 29, 1981 in El Paso, Texas. Her life was joyfully dedicated to God , her family, and her work. Jackie grew up the youngest of 4 siblings in the Salazar apartments in segundo barrio. As the baby in the family she was always loved and adored generously by all who helped raise her. Jackie went on to graduate from Bowie high school as part of the class of 99’. In high school she ran cross country , forged many lifelong friendships that she could fall back on until her last day , and gave birth to her one and only child , a son. It was early on even before graduating that she began to work hard at various jobs to create a life for her son and herself. After a few years of exploring different paths, one day she began what became a great career at Hospice of El Paso where she dedicated 14 years of service. It was there that she pushed herself through caring for a child on her own and working full time to go back to college and graduate with a bachelor’s degree of science in business in 2012. After serving as the assistant director, she became the director of Human Resources, a role she committed herself to on a daily basis. Jackie oversaw the hiring process, payroll, benefits, policies and procedures and employee relations. Her contributions to the organization are valued still today. In Her free time she dedicated herself to serving God’s will. Calvary Chapel the church she and her son attended on Sundays and Wednesdays at a time, became a grand outlet in which she did God’s work. There in 2014, she began to take part in children’s ministry for several years to come. Eventually , her answer to God’s call led her to begin the embrace ministry in 2021 who’s goal was to have church members play a role in any part of the body of the church. Furthermore, Jackie also had plans and dreams to be a missionary which entails traveling to a foreign country and spreading God’s word and love. She was so dedicated to her relationship with God that she helped plant the seed in many others to build that bond with him as well. Jackie was a very proactive member in our community in other ways too. Her willingness to help those in need led her to volunteering as a court appointed special advocate for abused and neglected children who need representation in the family court system. Jackie was a true warrior who fought not only for her son and herself but for others all the way until the end. She cheerfully gave her time and effort to support positive causes that touched her heart. Although she’s gone from this earth, she leaves behind a great and Godly example for her family and friends to follow. She leaves her son and grandson with her beautiful home for them to continue her legacy. Jackie will be missed and loved by all who had the privilege of being close to her. Each memory of her will serve as an inspiration to be better people and never make excuses when God can easily make miracles as portrayed through her life! Although on earth we will never be able to be with Jackie, we rejoice and celebrate knowing she is in God’s eternal glory! We rest proud of her knowing that she lived a life full of purpose. Her favorite verse was Jeremiah 29:11 “for I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” Dear God we thank you for the time we were able to share with Jackie , we ask you to fill our hearts with peace in place of the sadness caused by her absence. We ask that you would use us for your will and give us patience until we’re reunited again. In Jesus name Amen. We will love you and remember you forever Jackie , may you rest in peace.

Jacqueline was preceded in death on her moms side by her Grand Father Baldomero Terrazas,  Grand Mother Catalina Aguillon, Mother Aurelia T. Ponce, Uncle Polo Terrazas, Tío Vicente Terrazas, Prima Hilda Terrazas , and on her dads side by Tia Margarette Ponce de León,

Jacqueline’s service will take place on Monday April 22, 2024 from 6-8 P.M. at Calvary Capel. Viewing will be held from 6-7 and service will be from 7-8. The address is 1771 N. Zaragoza El Paso , Texas 79938. All friends and family are welcome.
