Nellie G. Ferro, age 94, was called to her heavenly home on December 3, 2024. Born on June 19, 1930 to her loving parents Domingo Guerrero and Maria Salazar in El Paso, Texas, she was the eldest of 5 sisters and 1 brother: Hortense, Mercy, Delia, Aurora (Goldie), Mary and Albert. Nellie went to Bowie High School and left school early to help raise her siblings after losing her dad when she was 16; she was 21 when she lost her mom. She began working near downtown at the Amtrak train station and had a long career working in retail sales of jewelry, crystal and china until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with family and close friends, decorating, traveling, and baking. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, her devoted husband Eugene (Gene) R. Ferro, Sr. of 52 years, her sister Mercy, and baby brother Albert. She will forever be in our hearts and greatly missed. She is survived by her son Eugene R. (Rick) Ferro, Jr. and his wife Leticia; her daughter Nancy L. Ferro; grandchildren Matthew Ferro and Brittany Rios; great grandchildren Oliver and Mason Rios; and many nieces and nephews. Rosary will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2024, at San Jose Funeral Home-East, 10950 Pellicano Dr., 79935.
