SAMUEL H. LEGARRETA

1/19/1944-11/15/2024

 

Samuel H. Legarreta was born in El Paso, Texas on January 19, 1944 to Mariano and Monica Legarretta.  Samuel was a lifelong resident of Ft. Hancock, TX. He worked for TxDOT for 23 years, retired and proceeded to work with Ft. Hancock ISD for 28 years. He passed away peacefully in his home on November 15, 2024 at the age 80. 

 

 Samuel is survived by his wife, of 60 years, Rosa G. Legarreta, daughters Yvette L. Herrera, Tessie Ann L. Ramirez and sons Samuel J. (Angie) Legarreta, Ezequiel (Olivia) Legarreta and brother Daniel Legarretta. Also leaving behind 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren to honor his legacy and cherish all his memories. He is very loved and will always be missed. 

 

 Samuel was proceeded in death by his parents Mariano and Monica Legarretta, sister Carmen Jiménez and brothers Mariano, Ismael (Duro), Israel (Ralo) Legarretta.

 

Samuel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar, watching baseball, and his Dallas Cowboys.  His favorite pastimes were telling and listening to good jokes and playing washers with whoever risked playing against him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

 

Services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Ft Hancock, TX.
